Abnormal Mass At Appendix Posted: 07-15-07 18:10pm
I went to the ER last monday with what 2
different doctors thought was appendicitis
because I had classic symptoms. However
upon much discussion over my CT scan it
was not really the case or so they think.
I have been to GI docs and surgeon and had
the CT scan and colonoscopy which the only
thing that came back was that I have a
3x3.3 cm tissue like mass with a 1x0.8cm
calcification in the middle, right where
my appendix should be. I am not really
getting too many answers and the surgeon
said that I would eventually need it
removed whatever it might be. The surgeon
said it may be that I might have had
appendicitis before and it encased itself
and now I have a case of it again and that
is why it manifest itself like traditional
appendicitis.
Anyone have any ideas on something like
this?

If you already had your appendix out, it
could be scar tissue. Other than that, I
really don't know. Sorry I could not be
of more help.
