Does anyone know if using bc pills for a long time affects your ability to get pregnant?

My wife has been on bc pills for 10 years.

With the pill, apparently a woman can get pregnant the month she stops taking the pill - that's why its so important to take the pill every day at the exact same time. Other forms of bc (like the shots) sometimes delay the potential for pregnancy for a couple of months after the bc is stopped.

But...

My question was wondering if there is any reproductive damage caused by using the pill for 10 years.

I understand that someone can get pregnant as soon as they stop taking the pill, but my question is regarding the long term effects of use.

From what I know there are no long term effects of using the bcp. I was on it for like 5 years and I just found out surprisingly I am pregnant and I wasn't really even trying hard yet.

So your wife should be okay. Some studies show health benefits to being on the pill.
