i have been wondering this for quite some
time now. but when youre on birth control
your period isnt technically a "real
period." so if this is the case and the
bleeding we do get every month is just
withdrawal bleeding, then if you were to
become pregnant, would you still get your
"period" for that first month?

You might... it all depends on how quickly
you ovulate after stopping the pill. The
first period you get one month after
stopping the pills may in fact be a real
one.

A lot of women will miss their period
while on the pill.
The pregnancy hormones are often enough to
prevent the withdrawal bleed.

The withdrawl bleeding is really similar
to a period because the blood comes from
the same place. You are shedding the build
up of tissue on the inside of your uterus
that occurs when you are not pregnant. If
you are pregnant, the embryo will embed in
this lining, and therefore, it will not
shed. Though there is such a thing as a
little bit of bleeding when you become
pregnant- it shouldn't be anything like
your period because the tissue is needed
to protect the embryo.
So even if you are on b/c, you shouldn't
get any kind of period if you are
pregnant, real or not. Spotting, maybe,
but not a period.
