Painful Papsmear And Endo Related? Posted: 07-14-07 21:57pm
I very recently had a papsmear done by my
GP as I have had this brown vaginal
discharge and am waiting to hear back the
results. It was really quite painful when
he put the speculum inside me I wanted to
cry and have had 5 pap smears now. My
doctor thinks that I have an infection and
that is why he did the pap smear. My
doctor is refering me to a gyno and I have
an appointment with the gyno in August, as
I have not had a period for 7 weeks now
and am on the birth control pill and have
had the brown discharge. I also have pain
with intercourse and have had really bad
and painful periods for almost 7 months
now. I also had an hemmorhagic ovarian
cyst which ruptured early June. Could all
this be a sign or symptoms that I have
endometriosis or a strained groin muscle
(my doctor and a physio I've been seeing
is also thinking it might be)...?

I'm definitely not pregnant, the doctor
has done tests on this a few times. I was
on birth control for 2 years and then
stopped taking it due to becoming really
moody and getting lots of headaches. I've
been back on birth control for almost 5
months now. I'm so over not knowing what
is wrong with my body - I just want to
find an answer....

I'm sorry to hear about your med
problems.
My doc thought I had endo, too, but that
was just due to excessively painful
periods. I did not have any of the other
symptoms you have described.
It doesn't make sense to me that a pulled
groin muscle would effect your period,
give you discharge, and cause such pain
during a pelvic exam. And would you have
a pulled groin muscle for 7 months?
I would try to get your appt. w/ the gyno
bumped up. I would not delay, especially
considering your past with the recent
hemmorhagic ovarian cyst.
I have pain with pap smears and have all
my life the more you relax the less
painful they are yet still painful. I
have/had endo but had it coterized in
1999-2000 can not remember 1 year
gallbladder removed 1 years the endo
thing. no period 7 weeks definatlly could
be endo. Try not to get to worried they
have treatments to fix endo depending on
how severe will depend on treatment. Do
you have pain with sex too? Sorry you have
all these problems. I will be praying for
you. Just remeber to try not easy but try
to relax with any time they insert the
speculem. I had soemone on july 2 put one
in me and scratched me all the way in and
all the way out at hospital. No relaxing
could help me. If it hurts tell them to
stop if it is that bad. They will stop and
then will tell you to relax please try it
will hurt less try breathing like 2 short
breaths and one long to relax may help. As
I said will be praying for you.
