my mom thinks I had some damage to my ears during my latest TMJ operations. she notices I have hearing loss.

so, is this possibly?

if so, it wont progress, will it?

thanks!

Hi
I have had 6 TMJ surgeries and noticed a difference in my hearing after every one. Gradually though it gets back to normal. My last surgery was only a few weeks ago (joint replacement) so still have slight loss along with weird other noises on one side, but don't worry it will come back.

Take Care

Hey
your hearing will come back. swelling puts pressure on the eustation tube causing the feeling that your ears are plugged or decreasing hearing. as soon as the swelling goes down and you have healed up your hearing will get better. ive had surgeries and my hearing stinks after each one---as i heal it gets better.Smile

ah, well my last surgery was well over a year ago

I do have arthritis, so I suppose you're right. I'm still uncertain if my hearing will return to normal though.

my mom, she's a doctor lol, insisted that my surgeries have caused hearing loss. I researched this and yes, indeed, it is a complication. today I told her she was right all along Rolling Eyes Laughing
