Q: Question About White Hair - Maybe Not Typical Gray Hair

I'm in my 20's, and I began to notice a single white hair growing from my head. At first I thought it was gray hair, but someone told me white hair can be commonly found if I have a small birthmark on my scalp. Well, I have had my head shaved pretty short, and haven't seen any sign of a birthmark.

Now I'm getting even more white hairs. They come out easily, but aren't brittle. The strange thing is, they are stronger than my normal strands of hair, and grow more rapidly. At first, I thought it was an illusion, but it's true that every white hair on my head, is considerably longer than my darker hairs.

Is this gray hair, or a common condition? Could this be some strange, and rare hair disorder? I've never heard of gray hair being stronger and longer than normal hair.

OMG this is exactly what i have; i didnt notice it but my friends and family did and it made me feel very wary just like you these hairs are stronger than my normal hairs, and gradually over time i got more and more.these hairs are not due to any birth marks as this has been checked..these hairs are behind my ears and just above my neck, but eventually they reached a certain amount and they have not 'spread' i was given an appointment at the hospital to see a specialisy and he put it down to my pigments it can be treated with a course of steroids, however this is not a suitable answer to me and i have chosen to just die my hair?
does this make you feel any different about yourself.....thought i was like the only one with this problem please write back thankyou x
