Vaginal Bleeding

Well I have now been bleeding quite
heavlely for 11 days Doctor has not called
back and have spiked a fever and have
called doctor this morning. All he told me
to do is not lift anything eat lots of
stuff with iron in it and take some iron
pills as well. Um I am doing this light
headedness not to bad and fever not going
above 39 but now doctor is on holidays
until the 7 of august. I do not feel I
should go in yet as everything is on a
even plateau. Has anyone ever had this
happen. Surgery when he comes back is for
sure. Filling a pad in about 1 hour so it
has lessened. Any suggestions of how to
keep my iron up. If I lay down bleeding is
not bad at all just when up right. A few
smaller clots now but no large ones
anymore.

I don't know... personally I'd be in the
ER every single day until someone got that
doctor back from getting a tan and fix me!
I would never let myself suffer like that.

You look after your husband? Personally,
if you're in this much pain it is he who
should be looking after you. It is he who
should be supporting you 100% in finding a
quick solution to a very, very dangerous
situation, even if it means he has to look
after the kids.
I am relieved that your bleeding is
lessening, though I'm still very concerned
for you.

Eleven days is not bad. You're perfectly
fine as far as that goes. I have PCOS and
I have extremely HEAVY menstruation for
almost a year at a time sometimes.

Yes. I often have golf ball sized clots
(and sometimes larger) coming out. There
is no need to panic, at least that is what
it seems like you have been doing. My
periods are far from normal. You're not
going to die from it, many women bleed
much more than that for longer periods of
time and as long as they watch their diet
and take it easy, they're fine (well, as
fine as someone can be with that
condition.)
I hope it gets taken care of and you find
the source, but you really shouldn't be so
panicked.

She was at one point filling 3 pads an
hour and feeling dizzy due to the loss of
blood; that is NOT normal and not healthy.

I can't even wear pads. They're a lost
cause for the amount I bleed. I'm not
saying it's normal, I was just telling her
she shouldn't panic, she's not going to
die over it.

Far be it from me to try to make someone
feel better, I bleed enormous amounts when
I'm menstruating, and my doctors say that
as long as I take iron supps OR eat iron
rich foods, I'm fine. I rarely get anemic.
I do agree she should go to the doctor,
but PANICKING ISN'T GOING TO HELP HER.
You know what? Forget what I said. Panic.
Go around and panic and completely wig
out. Have fun.

You assume she was.

From reading her posts, she did seem
panicky to me. Forget I said anything. I
happen to know a quite lot about
menstruation, including causes of
menorrhagia, but screw this forum, you're
all pretty damn childish here.

no its just best to give helpful info and
different options to what it could be. not
tell her "oh everything is fine"
what if she does have a serious problem
and then you say oh its all good dont
worry?
