Can steroids be reason for liver cancer. Will the cancer shrink if you stop using the steroids ? Can steroids be used for treating liver cancer ? Are steroids reason for specific types of liver cancer or liver cancer in general ?

Long-term using of anabolic steroids(male hormones) slightly increases the risk of developing liver cancer(hepatocellular). Anabolic steroids are used to treat men with abnormally low testosterones levels and for some types of severe anemia in both, women and men.
Steroids are usually abused by some athletes and sports to bulk muscles up and increase their strength. Cortisone-like steroids, such as hydrocortisone and dexamethasone, are not connected with that risk.
