Q: MY Body Shape

I'm a female. 17.

I've been noticing that all the girls around me have very developed bodies.. and they all have a specific shape. hour glass or pear.
I think I may have an apple shaped body.
Does anyone know if that's only a temporary phase of development? Sad

I've been trying to eat healthier and exercise more.. but I realize that maybe it's not that I'm out of shape but maybe it's just the type of body I have almost no curves and it's hard to tell from my upper and lower back.
i'm 5"5
140 lbs.

i don't tink i'm OVERWEIGHT.. but yeah it kinda scares me that I'm stuck with this body. The length between the bottom of my rib to my hip bone is about 3-4 inches. That's a bit short isn't it? I feel like i have all legs and no torso..

someone help, please?

p.s. someone help explain body shape to me hehe... :T

[edit]
2 1/2 inches... not 3-4 ugh.

maybe your body is just developing alittle slower than the other girls. I know how you feel..I'm 20 now and I've just gotten comfortable with my body..i didn't really start getting those "curves" until after high school haha..so i was slow...its funny, i met this guy summer before college..we were just friends, worked together..nothing else between us...came back from a year of college and got a "WHOA" from him...so apparently there were a few physical changes..he agrees..we've been together over a year now Smile haha..so just give your body some time and you'll catch up i'm sure Smile i did finally! lol

I Had the Same Problem
I think there is such a think as an "intermediate" stage. Before 10th grade, I was skinny and I had a boyish built no matter how healthy I ate or how much I worked out. Most of my peers had builts that resembled grown men at around 8th grade. However, when 10th grade started my built changed so fast I went from thinking of myself as a lifelong weakling to a serious looking athlete. I know you feel bad, don't sweat it, you're a beautiful girl! By the way, I'm 16, 3 months, 5 foot 10.5 (without hair), and 145 lbs.

Uuh, you can't really compare yourself with the body of a lady... At least one should hope not, their body works way too differently for any guy to compare with. But miss lady, don't be so concerned, I knew quite a few girls who were "late bloomers" and what a beautiful little flower they turned out to be =). You have some meat on you, that is good, its much easier from what I noticed for a girl with a bit of weight to slim down and get curves then it does for a skinny girl to gain that mass on their hips/thighs/breasts out of no where. Let me know if you want to slim down and would start seriously working out, I could assist you.
