Q: 1st Day With New Sitter (sil)

Today I had to go work in my classroom to get everything set up. Jesse's working and my mom still can't watch her b/c she's not recovered from her surgery. So, I decided to bring her to Jesse's sister. She has a 16 month old. When I gave her to my sil she started crying and reaching for me. I took her back and reassured her and gave her a kiss. My sil put some toys on the ground. I went put her down and she started playing. I kissed her and left. I called about an hour later and she said that she was fine and never cried (I cried when I left). Well when I got there 15 minutes later she said that she had just looked around, crawled in the kitchen and when she realized I had left she started crying and had just stopped before I walked in. I sat on the side of her (she never saw me walk in or sit). When she looked at me, it took a second then she squealed, jumped on me, hugged me really tight, and gave me some open mouth kisses. It made my eyes water. It was so sweet. I'm glad she was happy there b/c she's officially my emergency babysitter. Next week for Jesse's b-day we plan on going out and if my mom can't take her I'll try my other sister-in-law. I want to get her use to everyone else. She's become very attached to me over the summer and I want her to realize that she's okay when I'm gone. Lately she hasn't wanted to go with anyone even when I'm standing right there the whole time. She cries and cries and holds on to me for dear life.
I just wanted to share. It was a big step for her and me too (probably a bigger step for me).

That's so cute that she did that whenever she saw you.

I used to work at a daycare and it seemed like some of the kids didn't care when their parents came. Actually, some of them would try to hide Shocked

She's 8 months now. She's been with me all summer plus she's going through some seperation anxiety that's typical for this age. It's hard to put her down, much less go with anyone. My husband can hardly take her. She only wants me. I hope she's okay with my mom when school starts and I have to go back to work.
