Chronic pain affects more than 70 million Americans. But what is pain? And how can pain management help relieve different types of pain? Basic facts here....
I have a wisdom tooth that should have been taken out quite a while ago. I was pregnant at the time and didn't want to risk any complications with the anesthesia.
The past couple days the pain has become unbearable. Of course with it being the holidays no one is in the office for me to have it immediately taken care of. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with this pain?!? I have tried orajel and tylenol and it seems like I might as well gargle with the darn stuff before it will work. Any suggestions would be great!!
Codeine painkillers are the way to go if you can get them over the counter in the US. In the UK you need a prescription; they are called Co-Codamol or Co-Drydamol and also contain paracetamol. But be careful if you are breastfeeding, and be aware that you might not be safe to drive after taking them. My heart goes out to you; I know how excruciating dental pain can be.Hope you are feeling better soon.
yeh i agree with sarojini the best ones i took for my tooth pain was co-drydamol i got mine from the hospital hope you get better soon i know how horrible it is Jenny
My mom has an abscessed tooth and had to get a root canal. Now she is in so much pain that she has not slept in two days and the medicine that the doctor gave her isn't working. What can she do to ease the pain?
So very sorry to hear of oyur dear MOther in pain. What pain meds is she taking? I have had severla root canals but never was in any pain afterwards. Now, and abcessed tooth is another matter. Is she taking antibiotics for this? I'd suggest she call her dentist and tell them she'd in PAIN to please prescribe her something, tell them what they gave her is NOT doing anything. I'd ask for Lortab.
