Q: Took yasmin pills late

I usually take my Yasmin pill at 4pm. Yesterday I forgot to take it but took it at 6pm the same day. So it was 2 hours late. The packet said that missing one pill ok as long as I take it when I remember.

But today I forgot to take it a 4pm again and remembered to take it at 6pm (so 2 hours late again, though not technically since I took it at 6pm yesterday).

So am I still protected? Does this mean I missed 2 pills in a row? Or is it like I reset my "pill taking time" to 6pm? I'd really appreciate any answers to this.

Took Yasmin Pills late
If you take the pill only 2 hours late it's still ok. They say that you can only become pregnant if it's been more than 3 hours since birth control like Yasmin lasts 27 hours so you'll be fine

This is incorrect. Yasmin is a COMBINED ORAL CONTRACEPTIVE PILL. This means that you have 12 hours of leniency as to when you take it. Even if you took your pill up to 12 hours late, it would not be considered missed or even late and your protection would not be compromised at all.
If you were taking a PROGESTIN-ONLY PILL, which you are not, then mousey0311 would be correct in saying that you have a 3 hour time window.

You are still fully protected. You would be fully protected if you took it 4 or 6 or even 10 hours late. It is good to try and take it at the same time of day, however, because it gets you in a good habit of always taking it and never forgetting it.

What about if you take it around 14 hours late? I usually take it at around 8/9am but after I had my 7 day break, I forgot until around 11pm on the day I was supposed to take the first one. What is my protection like in that case?

Thanks

since you extended your break to 8 days instead of 7, it is riskier than missing a pill in the middle of the pack. As long as you remembered to take it, however, you should be fine.
but, as an extra precaution, i would use back-up or abstain from sex for 7 days into your new pack. that way, you're 100% sure you haven't compromised your protection.

I took mine roughly 10 hours late and that same day had sex, the condom split though. So, do you reckon I will be okay or do you think that I should take an emergency contraceptive pill. Really confused on what to do here

what kind of a pill is it? if it is a combined oral contraceptive pill, then it will not loose its effectiveness until it is more than 12 hours late. if it is a progestin-only pill, you will experience decreased efficacy after 3 hours.

yes. as long as you have taken all your pills correctly, you are protected every day of the month. this includes your 7 day break and the first week of your new pill packet.
