my husbands ex put their 12 year old on depro vera, I don't agree and think it is too young!

I believe that people are allowing their children to be put on these drugs far too young...Many times I blame the doctors who prescribe these medications for a child...It just plain gets me sick....

that is outrageous...they shouldnt be worried about bc they should be worried about why this child would need bc. Plus depo wreaks havoc on a developed womans hormones. I cant imagine the harm it could have on a pubescent teen!

One must wonder why first. Many times these days young girls are starting their periods as early as 8 years old. Their bodies are developing at younger ages. Sometimes doctors put these girls on hormone therapy to regulate them. I started my period when I was 11. I had horrible cramps, almost debilitating. The hormones just wreaked havac on my body. I was put on birth control and muscle relaxers to get me through to a point where my body could regulate itself and the cramps were managable.
