Ok, heres the thing, and I promise I will try to keep it short, I'm just looking for an honest opinion...

My periods have not always been exactly normal, at times, I may go almost a month and half before having another one, or sometimes they are every month... I ended up having unprotected sex like 2 weeks ago, it was a one time thing. He ended up pulling out before he ejaculated (which I know doesnt mean anything). A week after that, I had some cramping, but nothing really after that. Then about half way thru this week, I have been dealing with some nausea, having to pee alot (which is only slightly off normal for me), headaches, and being really tired (which is due to not sleeping well, and may also be the headache cause?)

I was supposed to start my period yesterday (9/4) but instead of starting, I had a light brownish/red mucus type discharge. Nothing like a period, and still nothing today, except the discharge. Its so light I dont even have to wear anything, like a pad, etc...

I guess my question is, is it worth it to go test this soon? Especially if my periods arent exactly normal?

Because you have irregular menstrual cycles, it is my opinion the best way to find out for sure is make an appointment with your doctor. A blood test would be done at that time. If you want to do a home pregnancy test, then I suggest wait another week.

ok, thats kinda what I was thinking, waiting another week I mean. Unfortunately I am unemployed and have no health insurance. I went to a low income clinic once before for a physical for school, and all they did was a standard urine test (I was not sure if I was pregnant or not back then, turns out I wasnt)... So I do not know exactly what to do about that... but thanks Smile

It useally takes 6 weeks for the urine test to test positive. My wife always had very irregular periods, sometimes she would skip a whole month! Sometimes it would be light spotting for one or 2 days then stop.
I think you need to wait 3 more weeks. Also, her headaches, nausea, etc didn't start in any of her pregnancies until a couple of months in.

some tests like first response may be able to tell you at about 3-4. or at about 5 days before your period was due.
and you may be feeling a little stressed out about the possibilities so just relax.
