Too soon for implantation bleeding?
Posted: 07-16-08 15:32pm

Hey guys,
I tried BC pills at the beginning of this month. It got really messed up, I had unprotected sex three times before they supposedly were "in action". (i had originally come here with this problem, got great help thanks!) I quit the pills on day six of taking them, they were giving me absolutely terrible depression problems among others. So the BF and I ditched them.
We had unprotected sex twice on the tenth of July. This would be the second day of taking the pill, very stupid, I know.
The first day of my last period was June 30th. And today (July 16th) I am having a pretty decent amount of brown discharge. I would assume its (late?) ovulation but I have never ever experienced this before and I've never had unprotected sex before this month. I watch my discharge pretty closely since I'm pretty in tune with the NFP method and never has it been brown and thick like this.
I came off the pill two or three days ago, also, btw.
Is this from coming off the pill by any chance? A different ovulation, maybe? Or lastly, my most feared question, can this be implantation so early? It's been six days since the sex. I don't really know what's too soon.
I VERY much appreciate all the help. I am only sixteen and was trying to do the right thing now its backfiring from utter stupidity.

Hey VeganEm!
I can give the textbook facts or the facts of recent pregnancies, each common with eachother. Textbook says that the egg cannot attach until 8-14 days roughly. Now just the word roughly leaves room for play. I myself am going through the VERY same situation.. same dates..same facts ( except im TURNING 17) and ive been with the same guy for almost 2 years and he's never leaving my side.. but yeah all the same: to the tee. Only my last period day was the 30th. Now i can suggest doing what im going to do.. wait a week and then take a test. Have you had any symptoms or "feelings".. It sounds crazy but a woman knows sometimes before the science knows. Best luck too you and let me know how everything goes with your situation.

CMTBAY, I'd have to disagree. If you've got symptoms, then science will be able to tell you if you're pregant.

VeganEm, wait two weeks after sex and test. The spotting and bleeding that you are experiencing is probably from the birth control, I've noticed it tends to turn my periods brown.

If you can't handle birth control pills then you NEED to use condoms or something else.

The discharge is likely breathrough bleeding from missing birth control pills. It's your body's way of reacting to the shift in hormones. But you should wait two weeks from the time you had sex and take a pregnancy test to ease your mind. And you might want to look into an alternative form of birth control if pills aren't your thing, like maybe an IUD. And definitely use condoms as a back-up!
