I have had 2 ultrasounds at 4 months pregnant. I will have another in the next week or so I will be just like her. In my case I know they want to follow up closely because I'm 35 so I'm actually glad they are doing it. I personally love ultrasounds as I can see the baby. Ultrasounds are totally safe for the baby. My doctor visits are monthly so basically they are doing an ultrasound every time I go which is fine. The ultrasound I have had are in office but this next one will be a second level ultrasound where they are going to look for birth defects. This is routinely offered to women over 35 or when there is suspect of birth defects and it will performed in the hospital. Now in my case my insurance covered everything so I really don't have pay a penny for the whole nine months.

I'm actually a sonographer and I can say there is no harmful effects from an ultrasound exam on the mother or child. You can be scanned everyday the entire pregnancy and have no worries. Aside from the cost of an exam, I couldnt give you a reason not to have an ultrasound as much as you'd like
