i have had constant strep throat/tonsillitis (they actually don't know. strep tests have come back negative but they continue to treat me for it anyways) for over a month and have been on three different medications, and it won't go away. my tonsils stay swollen and have weird patches on them. the packets aren't quite like the puss pockets that form when you have been on antibiotics yet, but more like scars and cuts, as well as little white dots.

also in recent days my ears and nose have stuffed up and since starting my latest medication, apo-amoxi clav (amoxicillin - clavulanate) my eyes have swollen up, i am constantly tired and weak and my joints and muscles are in pain. i get "chill" like symptoms, but i have no fever. should i ask my doctor about tonsillectomy? is there something else that is possibly wrong?
