Q: Tolerance to Lortab

I am a 38 yr. old disabled male. I have crohns disease and degerative disc disease. I see a pain mgmt. dr. for the ddd and for the past couple of years he has had me on a steady regiment of Lortab 10/325 ( 7 a day ) I have built up a tolerance to these and I actually take more than I am supposed to to try to get relief. I want to be honest with my dr., but if I tell him I have been taking more, then I am afraid he may kick me out. If I tell him that the 7 a day aren't working, then I am afraid he will just bump me up to 8 or 9 a day, but I know that won't help. I want to go to my next appt. in a cpl. of weeks with some medicines I can afford and may could try. I do not have insurance right now, so i am limited. The Fentnyl patches are way to expensive. I am hoping for maybe a time released drug that will last longer than the lortab. The other thing I want to avoid is something that will keep me knocked out. I was on mepergan after crohns surgery and it really helped with pain, but the phenergan kept me knocked out all the time.

I was hoping maybe someone on here has had similar problems with Lortab not working anymore and what you moved to that started working again for the pain. Thank you all for reading this and I look forward to your response.

tolerance to lortab
try methadone it is only $0.15 per 10mg pill without insurance

and 7 lortabs a day is a lot of tylenol 2275mg
the max amount of Tylenol should be less than 4000 mg per day to avoid liver damage
