How to interpret ELISA test report?

I got the test result for ELISA. It goes like this:

PARAMETER OBSERVED VALUE UNIT REFERENCE RANGE
------------------------------------------ ----------------
HIV ELISA* Negative Cut off value:0.4

Test OD .003 OD Ratio

1. Can someone please explain me these values? I suppose I am clean and don't need any WB test.
2. I heard ELISA test takes few days. But they gave me the result within 8 hours. Is this normal?

Thanks.

Hello and welcome to e health forum.

Yes the performance of the ELISA test is appropriate.

From the readings provided, the test result appears to be NEGATIVE.

In case the test was done after 4 weeks of exposure, then the test result is valid, and you need not repeat the tests again.

If you have any doubts, you might benefit by consulting a HIV counsellor for proper guidance.
