tmj symptoms

hello everyone i am new on this forum and my newly discovered tmj issues has driven me to find this site ..i just recently found out that i had tmj i figured it out on my own from all of my symtoms and found a dentist that says he can help me and every week get a massage and see the chiropractor although this all so far has helped my muscle tension and discomfort i am still having the headaches and very tight pain around my whole head that feels so tight sometimes i think my eyes will just come out sounds awful but its the truth my eyes constantly feel tight with pressure and ache and the most annoying symptom is my nose hurts and feels like it has pressure on it also almost like its gunna bleed but doesnt anyone else ever feel that with tmj? my ears often itch and hurt to i just want this to go away it has caused me to feel very depressed and i now get severe health anxiety obsessing over every little pain thinking it is something far worse i was just wondering if anyone else was having any of the same issues with tmj ...and also i think its important for everyone now having to live with the chronic pain of tmj to take a stand to do something to find a cure or it i mean there has got to be something that we can do because so many people are suffering from this i mean it has the ability depending on how bad it is to ruin somones life but if anyone can relate please right back thanks so much sunny

I'm new too. (:
I have ringing ears and i'm wondering if that is the cause of the ringing. Be glad you don't have the ringing.
Well, everything has it's bad side to it. I think you can find many people here who you can relate to and experience the same thing as you.
Sigh. I just wish i can find the cause of my condition. It's driving me nuts.

yeah i too got the extreme headaches like you mentioned, with ringing in the ears and self-diagnosed myself with tmj because of many injuries I had to the jaw. Sometimes the headaches even progressed into migraines that would last for days. Now that you have the pain and discomfort under somewhat control from your doctors try methods to reduce your anxiety. I too have anxiety about mey medical condition and I have found it best not to think about the pain as much as possible and focus on things that you are able to do. Anxiety can cause terrible tension headaches like this and all it took for myself at least, was to break the anxiety cycle and I stopped having the severe headaches for the most part, I still struggled with the side-effects from the injuries, BUT they got better. I hope that you can get something from this. Good luck.
