Q: tmj retainers

i had braces a while ago but i dont know about getting retainers cause the braces made my tmj worse does anyone think if i dont where the retainers my teeth will shift back to the old position where they would make my pain more bearble any advice would be apreaciated

Extremely eHealthy

well honestly since they made the tmj worse id not wear the retainers. your teeth will go back to the position they were in before---however if you do wear the retainers to keep the teeth straight there are options to make the tmj better---i wore my retainers faithfully and my teeth went right back. its up to you what you want to do
