I got punched over a year ago on the left side of my jaw and met with a maxo-facial specialist and was dissapointed. He didn't mention anything about a splint, had a rude nurse in a hurry during the X-ray, and the specialist even met with a friend or doctor during my 10 minute visit. I was dissapointed with the visit and lost my health insurance right after. It has been a year and two months with TMJ and am realizing the disk is the nerves and not a part of the bone is why my jaw feel tight in a spot and empty in another. It still pops when I open wide. I NEED HELP. Is it possible after a year with miss treating TMJ to get a lower jaw splint to realign my jaw??? DOES THE (DISK) NERVES & BLOOD VESSELS MOVE INTO A MORE CONFORTABLE POSITION AFTER A YEAR?? OR IS MY CONDOYLE ALWAYS GOES TO POP IN DISSCONFORT EVEN IF i get the lower splint to releave the condition??

sombody please say somthing good about the splint pleasssse, I am going to get fitted for one SAP.

ok dont do that---you dont want the muscles to atrophy--then you wont be able to move at all-----you need to get to a good neuromuscular dentist---i have full range of motion and no pain. eat the soft foods untill you get in but move that jaw---not moving it will only cause more problems in the long run. I can help you find a good doctor--just pm me---Ive been through all this ( and more) so I know that i can help you. Your disc may very well be just fine and in place---have you had a mri or catscan

after a year of worrying
I got a stand up X-RAY a month after I was punched. I am guessing an MRI , it scanned around the whole frontal area of my lower face & jaw.

after a year of worrying I am confident the disk either split or is dislocated. my pain is minimum but somtimes i get a good hook on the nerves and bloodvessels and i get a pinchy feeling as my jaw grinds them, but ussually it just pops when i open a full wide mouth. I try to close it slow so i can make my condoyle slide as smooth as possible. I like these pictures in the websight and youtube the most.

I have a clear idea on how my jaw is sitting right now because it feels empty and full on the other side. My REAR top and bottom molars touch more than usual and my muscles seem weaker on the problem side also. By looking on how the CONDYLE is positioned I can tell that is exactly whats going on. I am upset I haven't got a splint yet.
The specialist probably would have given me one, but he didn't give me a good first visit so I didn't return. I probably should have tryed to resolve it then instead of now by going to a dentist. I have had alot of problems lately, and it would have made things much easier all year long if I knew exactly what to do to treat it.

no that is a panagram--not an mri---and you cant have a clear idea of how it is sitting unless you have one of these. you can have a lot of sensations that make things feel a certain way and yet they arent that way. I can tell you who to go to and how to treat it--you just have to listen and stop diagnosing yourself as that wont help at all
