Q: TMJ headaches

Hi,
I have had headaches (that tylenol/ NSAIDs don't help if it gets bad) from recently diagnosed TMJ. I have done everything they told me to do at the doctor, soft foods, no gum, trying to relax my jaw muscles, etc. After following this all to a T, it seems to be getting worse. When I eat, my jaw pops and almost locks up. I'm so afraid that I'll be out somewhere eating and my jaw lock up. My TMJ is due to a broken jaw joint that tried to heal a couple of years ago and is now deformed. It's pretty noticeable, the whole side of my face has changed. :/ Does anyone have this problem and found success with anything?
