Hi. My step-son has both tmj an cerebral palsy. He is in a lot of pain. He has gone to doctors who have told his mom that there isn't anything else that they can do for him. He has tmj in his muscle and with cerebral palsy it makes it worse since he has no control over his muscles. Is there anything else that can be done for him? He cries every day and just wants to sleep all the time.

The clinical scenario of cerebral palsy make these individuals more prone to the development of TMD signs.
Treatment of chronic TMD is often very difficult.
It is important to find the way to reduce and prevent the bruxism and parafunctional oral habits like pacifier-sucking, finger-sucking, biting objects, tongue interposition, in order to minimize the deleterious consequences to the TMJ function.
