Hi All,

Over a good number of months iv had problems with my knees, iv been to physios and was told there is nothing wrong with my ligaments or the cartilage and that what was happening was the tightness in my leg muscles was pulling my knee cap out of position causing it to ''click'' into position every now and then. That isnt the problem really, iv been doing stretches a physio suggested and have been to sports therapy massages to help relieve the knots in the muscles and the clicking effect is slowly subsiding and getting much better.

My worry now is that on my left knee i have found a tiny lump floating around (scarcely bigger than a grain of sand, only just big enough to feel through my skin). It doesnt hurt even to press on it, but i can feel it through my skin and its just floating around near the top of my kneecap.

I was told when i first had problems with my knees if it was damage to my cartilage or ligament then i would know there and then, and that sounds logical to me, and iv chipped my elbow once before when i was younger and that hurt like hell and i could hardly move my arm.

Im just confused as its not nothing, i can definitely feel something there but it doesnt hurt at all, im just concerned that if something has chipped off it could do damage floating around inside my knee

Can anyone help?

Many Thanks

Andrew

I sure wouldn''t worry about it...I am sure the physician would suggest that this is taken out if it was a problem...However, I wouldn''t keep rubbing it all the time...This will make it sore...Take care...

Small Floating Lump in Knee
Did you ever figure out what this is? I have the exact same thing in my left knee. It feels like a little BB floating in the fatty area right above the knee cap.

I have the exact same thing in my left knee! I noticed/developed it a couple of years ago after I bashed my knee on a hard floor... Still don't know what it is and x-rays show nothing. Did you ever find out what it is?

I think -- It's a displaced piece of cartilage........
