Firstly, I should note I have a perforated drum in my left ear.
A few weeks ago I had the sensation of rumbling in my left ear. It didn't seem to get any worse each day, and my experience over the years with my ears told me that I should wait it out.
But it got worse. The sensation I have now is as though my head is full of cotton wool, people sound robotic when they talk - and listening to music has the odd result of sounding out of tune to my left ear. There also feels to be some pressure inside my head behind my ear. There is NO discharge or anything.
So I went to the doctor. Was it infected? I didn't know. She said it wasn't, but I had a build up of wax right at the back probably / possibly touching my ear drum. She removed it manually as obviously syringing isn't possible for me.
I can hear slightly better, I think - but the symptoms outlined above are a little worse. The pressure is still there, as is the muffled hearing and rumble. My doctor did say it might take a while to settle down - so if in a week it's no better then she'll send me to an ENT guy.
Does any of the above resonate with anyone?
