Q: tinnitus and tmj ?

Hello, I am new to this and wondered if I get any advice? I have been suffering from tinnitus for the last year, I went to my ENT and they discovered I have mild sensorial hearing loss in my left ear. I also get fullness in both ears and some days they feel wet even though they are not. I get terrible pain some days in my jaw just in front of my ears that radiates in to my ears, my jaw pops and clicks and grinds when I open it. I also get pain behind my cheeks and my temples. Could this all be related to my tmj? I have sucked my thumb since a baby and only stopped in January this year just in case it was related - I am now 33!!!
Does any body have any advice? The doctors say it could be meniere's but I do not get vertigo more of a fuzzy head. Does anybody have any advice?
Thank you in advance. Tara

Yes this could very well be related to tmj---some patients get ringing, shooting pain in the ears, and a plugged feeling in the ears and sometimes hearing loss. the thumb sucking probably doesnt help the situation so do try to stay on the road of not doing that anymore and bravo for quitting.

what kind of doctors have you been seeing? what needs to happen is to get the pressure off the eustation tube( this tube regulates pressure between the mouth and the ear) the condyle puts pressure on this tube and causes the pluged feelin and the hearing loss. I have some suggestions for you--pm me ok?

Thank you for your quick reply Tmddyan. I have seen An ENT Doctor that specialises in Meniere's. I am convinced it is more to do with my jae but my doctors don't seem to listen to me! I have visited the dentist who reffered me o Maxiofacial unit at the hospital - my appointment is July 21st. I have had an MRI head scan to look for tumours - this came back clear but the specialist asked me if I was aware I had any sinus problems? Which I wasn't aware of. I keep thinking could this be a combination of TMJ and sinus problems? I am trying to say positive as I am aware there could be worse things to have but on a day to day basis I am finding it hard to cope. If you have any suggestions that would be great. Thank you
