Q: Tinnitis treatment

I have tinnitis. It was very low and tolerable for years and I could ignore it. In the last two weeks it has become louder and starting to drive me crazy. I was told by three docters there is nothing that can be done, that I will have to learn to live with it. I have been prescribed Xanax for anxiety and the depression it has caused me. Other than the tinnitis I am fairly healthy. Iwould like to know if anyone knows of anything that has worked for them?

I haven't had this condition, but I will copy this over to the ear, nose and throat disorders so that you will be able to get more answers. Best of luck to you.

Check ear wax levels, etc. But seriously....you may very well have to learn to live with it. Like other strange noises (I hear my heart beat all the time for instance) you have to learn to dial it out. The more you focus on it, the louder it gets. Good luck!
