I Often get a feeling in the left shoulder a tingling sensation, usuall in morning and at night like an electrical charge. There is never any pain just constant annoyance of this tingling sensation. I recently went to my GP, and he give me the basic lung tests. He said that my lungs arnt operating properly. I am a smoker of over 12 years, i started at 13 now im 25. He sent me for a chest x-ray today. I am trying to stop smoking and i intend to do so. But to be honest i am very concerned that i may have lung cancer. Any body have any thoughts on my symptom? Thanks

Your physician is probably suspicious about lung cancer at the top of the lung, cause one of the causes for tingling shoulder is lung cancer that leads to thoracic outlet syndrome.
This syndrome happens when nerves that pass into the arms from the neck have been compressed (conditions that can lead to nerve compression are muscle enlargement, such as from weight lifting and injuries, an extra rib from the neck at birth (cervical rib), weight gain, and tumors at the top of the lung, very rare; often no specific cause is found).
Tingling shoulder can be result of cervical spine conditions, when the nerves are entrapped at their beginning.

Best wishes!
