Q: Tingling on the tip of tongue

I have recently experienced, once in a while, a tingling sensation on the tip of my tongue. I do not suppose it happens after I have eaten something particular. When I observe in the mirror there are no changes in the colour of the tongue, but when I press the tip between the upper and the lower front teeth I notice minor cracks on the tip. The tingling subsides but comes up once in a while. I hope this is not a symptom something serious.
