Hey all,
I have been suffering from health anxiety over the last few weeks. It's been so severe it's ruining my sleep patterns, diet, and overall day-to-day activities. I have been feeling tingling in my legs a bit and wondering if anyone else has experienced this due to stress/anxiety. I start googling these sensations and see it might even be hiv or peripheral nerve damage...this heightens the sensations and makes it even worse. I need help from someone who can relate!

Anxiety/Panic attacks, I can relate!
Almost a year ago, I suffered from what the doctor described as a "Carpal Anxiety (something or other)". I was going thorugh major stress, although I was not stressed at the time. For this particular 'episode' my hands and feet started tingling, I tried to stay calm, and asses what was going on, but when anything unknown is happening to your body, its natural to freak out more. Ten or so minutes later, I was in the car, and my chest started feeling tight (cause I was worried and then started to have a panic attack). The tingling in my hands got to the point I felt like my arms were vibrating then my hands started cramping so severly it was hard to keep them open without force. The tingling rapidly moved up my arms, and I could feel it in my neck and then my head, and face.
20mins later I reached the ER. Another 20mins later tightness/tingling finally subsided, leaving me dead tired. They said I was fine, and probably just suffered from an anxiety attack.

Months later I was diagnosed with a vitamin D deficiency, and after taking 50,000 IUs of vit D every week for 4 months, along with watching what foods I eat (low fat), and *attempting* to excersize regularly, I actually feel much better.
Its hard NOT to stress. Whatever the reasons, work, school, family, relationships, money, or the economy. Often people forget to take care of themselves. Sometimes all it takes is a little attention to your body's needs: good diet and a little excersize. Oh, and an occaisional little VACATION wouldn't hurt! Wink
