Q: Tinea pedis , fungus

Dear Hi,

My wife is suffering from fungal infection at the bottom of the feet. Diagonisis report says the fungal infection is TINEAPEDIS.She is under medication for 5 Years, and i dont see any scope of improvement. She is suffering a lot.I want to ask the experts, is there any permanent cure for the same. Plz suggest me some treatments for a permanent cure that will keep her in comfort.

Treating a fungal infection for a long period without any visible improvement as you reported is generally uncommon. Fungal infections are treated with antifungal medications.

It could take time for the infection to be treated. The infection might even return; if so, the treatment may need to start all over again. However, generally progress is expected in a couple of months.


Therefore, you might want to ask for another opinion to see if something else and not tinea pedis is causing the condition.
