Ovulation needs to occur at the time of intercourse in order to conceive. Ovulation occurs exactly fourteen days before the start of the next expected menstrual period.

In women with 5 days average length of menstrual period, ovulation might occur 5 or 6 days after the end, if the menstrual cycle is 24 to 25 days. This is not uncommon in certain women. Although, in your case (5 days average duration of menstrual period and 35 days length of menstrual cycle) pregnancy is highly unlikely if the intercourse was 5 or 6 days after the end of the menstrual cycle.

However, you might want to visit your gynecologist for a physical examination, hormonal laboratory test, and ultrasound scan to rule out pregnancy for sure.
