I have had tumid lupus for about eight years now. I went to every kind of doctor and specialists you can think of to find out what was wrong, but none of them could offer any help. Then I went to a dermatalogists who diagnosed me with tumid lupus. Yes it is real and yes it is the most rare form. I have to cover my skin when out in the sun, or be wearing sun block always. My most damaged part is the left side of my face where a rash stays constantly because when especially when driving the sun stays on that side of the car mostly. I have been on plaquenil for about 3 years and not sure if it is worth taking. My rash never goes away, the fatigue, chronic pain in my hips, legs, shoulders, wrists, the swelling of the joints not being able to use the limbs for days has eased up a bit using the stuff but it feels like iyt's not helping anymore but to step up to a higher dosage is risky because my eyesight for one has definitely detereorated in the past few years. That's about it.
