I experienced difficult to breath 5 days ago. i see my family doctor and he gave me the "Prilosec" and "Xyzal " to try 2 weeks. I take these medication a few days ago but don't see it help. Also I feel my stomatch is very normal, it does not look like it has gas or acid or heart burn.

I am very worry and think about go to specialist to check it out.
Can you advise me:

1. what causes and the treatment?
2. should i go to doctor ear nose and throat, or what speialist ?
3. what test I need to take to find out if I have tumor in my throat, or thyroid cancer or something go wrong in my body that I would want to dianoge in early.

Please write me. I really need your help.

Thank you.

If this doesn't get better in a couple of weeks (when the medication has a chance to work), go back to the doctor.

Don't worry about thyroid cancer right now. Did the doctor feel your throat? If so, he should be able to feel any bumps on your thyroid. If they are there (and for some reason your doctor didn't check), even if they are causing discomfort, it doesn't mean they are cancer. So don't panic, even if they find something.

An ENT may be warranted, but try going back to your regular doctor first (or another primary care doctor if you don't like the one you have).
