Hello

I never thought I would have to go online for answers but right now i am willing to try anything.

A couple of years ago I noticed that the area in my lower back, left hand side started to get stiff - now its raised, tight and seems to spasm now and again.

In the morning its unbearable and i have to stretch it out with some exercises. I have tried all sorts of rubs, tabs etc not to mention pyhsio, massage treatment, chiropractic examination, accupuncture etc.

I am now 29 and used to play golf - this may be were i go the problem as I have heard you can get a minor injury and the back muscles/body can go into help mode by tightening up the area.

I am in a long list before i can be seen by a specialist. I am at my wits end and really scared that I might be in serious health problems.

I would love some help/guidance

Many thanks

Usually chiropractic treatments excel in the treatment of low back pain. When you say you tried "chiropractic examination" did you also undertake a conservative round of chiropractic treatments? The chiropractic treatments are like dental braces. You can't just have them on for one day and expect straight teeth. Chiropractic treatments take time as the adjustments are made the body responds and starts to heal and correct. Maybe you can consider trying a different chiropractor. Good luck.

Deckard29... I was experiencing the same thing after an injury at work, I past it of for awhile, but then pursued chiro, physical therapy, injections, MRI' etc., etc., etc. you can go on doing this stuff forever and get temporary results. I am in my lower 40's and very healthy, after 65 total weeks of PT, multiple, doctors, chiros, PTs, all telling me they could make me better I deciced to go see a spine surgeon, (a good one mind you, I traveled 4 hours from my home town) and bam, with an my past MRI's, Xrays, etc, and an MRI he did it took him 5 minutes to diagnose me with a severly damaged disc at L4-L5, I had hime do surgery and now that pain is gone. I still have a dull ache, but the pain that was preventing me from living my life is now gone. I had a disconectomy, laminectory, and spinal fusion at L4-L5 in Dec. 08 and I am now going back to work after being on restricted duty for over 3 years... I did feel the way you explained above.
