Congrats on your pregnancy...

From personal experience I would say this is normal and not water retention.

Are your fingers or feet swollen or feel tight or stiff? Generally speaking that is a sign that you are retaining fluid.

If you are generally thin then your clothes may begin to feel snug early on.

My stats before pregnancy are 5'3" and 138 lbs, muscular in the arms and the theighs and calves, and a little bit of muscle around the abdominal area. I feel gasy all the time and as far as being stiff in certian limbs, I feel stiff all the time because I have a personal trainer and she works me to the bone, so I'm stiff everyday >_<. My fingers do not look nor feel swollen.

If clothes feeling tight around this time is normal then I won't get upset or worrisome. I just didn't know if this is something that is normal for a first timer so early in the game.
