Q: thyroxin after thyroidectomy for weight loss

I had a thyroidectomy 3 1/2 years ago and I take150 mcg daily. I want to lose about 10-15 lbs and I know that if I temporarily up my dosage, the weight will drop rapidly and then I can simply go back to my normal dosage.

I know all doctors say this is bad- but for 3-4 weeks - is it seriously that bad? I am wondering if anyone has ever tried this.

Thanks,
D
