My mum went for a blood test last week for a therpaist. She got her results back say she had Thyroids, her White blood cells are low, a high cholesterol and a high blood pressure. She has to go in for another blood test tomorrow. But the dr didnt tell her what the symptoms could be because they didnt want to stress her out. Does anyone know what it could be???

Hello and welcome to e health forum.

Hypothyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid gland does not make enough thyroid hormone (deficiency of thyroid hormone).

Early hypothyroidism is often asymptomatic and can have very mild symptoms.

Frank Hypothyroidism can be associated with the following symptoms including - muscle aches, Fatigue, Any form of menstrual irregularity and fertility problems, Elevated serum cholesterol, Cold intolerance, increased sensitivity to cold, Constipation , Depression, Muscle cramps and joint pain, Thin, brittle fingernails, Coarse hair, Paleness, Decreased sweating , Dry, itchy skin, Weight gain and water retention and low heart rate.

In your mothers case, she might be having hypothyroidism. She may need proper therapy with thyroid supplements. You may consult with your doctor for a complete evaluation, treatment and proper advice.
