Q: Throat swelling
asked by: DoctorQuestion on September 5th, 2008
Recently, I have noticed a sensation of swallowing the back of my tongue, mostly when waking up in the morning. I also have noticed every couple of days, while trying to swallow food or saliva, my throat feels closed. I have to try a few times to swallow till I am successful

Current medical status: sensation of swallowing tongue mostly when arising in the morning also occasional difficulty swallowing saliva or food...throat feels closed. Occurs once or twice a week.
Current medical treatment: none

You can consult your GP to examine your throat and to check if your tongue is really swollen or not. If there is no swelling in the throat then the sensation you feel is false and probably due to anxiety.
