I have a throat sore for the past 50 days,
The blood test results for the first fifteen days of
wbc 18000,
neutrophils 81%
lymphocytes 18%
Monocytes 00
Eosinophil 00
Basophil 00
and ASOT test 34,

Then take a blood test again in 15 days after

wbc 13.7*10^9/L
Neutrophil 74 % 10.2
lymphocytes 16 % 2.2
Monocytes 08 % 1.0
Eosinophil 02 % 0.3
Basophil 00

Why is this different from the experimental data? but my throat sore it is without any changes at 50 days!!! I've already got antibiotics but no change....this is what kind problem???

Hello,

Welcome to ehealthforum and thanks for writing

Sore throat can be due to common cause as viral infection which usually subsides in a week time and bacterial infections which are treated by antibiotic. But if the sore throat is recurrent and persistent then it could be indicative of some other causes as Infectious mononuleosis(type of virus),Sterptococcal Pharyngitis, allergies as exposure to dust, smoking, heat and rare cause as dental infections.

One of the most ignored thing is that if you have been suffering from a repeat attack after rhe treatment kindly get your toothbrush changed as it can be a potential source of infection.

If the sore throat is not improving even after a period of 50 days then it requires a proper investigation.A complete history, examination and investigations can help in precise diagnosis so that the treatment can be recommended accordingly.

Kindly visit a ENT Specialist for evaluation.Meanwhile some suggestions for you:
1. Avoid cold, spicy and oily food.
2. Avoid milk products like cheese, curd, butter.
3. Gargle your throat 3 times a day with warm (not hot) salt water, you can also get yourself betadine gargle.
4. Watch out for fever and cough with sputum.
Hope it helps!
