If anyone can help I would appreciate the help. My doctor doesn't seem to know how to resolve my issue. About 2 weeks ago I took some Bayer Low Dose Aspirin Chewables one night before I went to sleep. Immediately after taking the pills when I laid down my throat started closing up. I didn't go to the doctor right away and just tried to deal with the problem on my own. My throat closing up was the first symptom and it only happened when I laid down at night to go to sleep. In addition, I also had trouble breathing while lying down at night. In order to try to help me get some sleep I would take some Allegra and Afrin Nasal Spray which relieved my throat some so that I could go to sleep.
During the day, my throat would not close up but I would always feel like I was being choked. I felt as tho someone had a rope around my neck and I was being slightly strangled. The symptoms started to progress to where my throat would start to close during the day as well as when I would take the bus to work or when I would get off of work in the evening. And I would have problems breathing and taking in air into my lungs. It seemed to happen when I was in a room that was really hot or humid.
My breathing problems got worse and i developed a lump on my throat that was sensitive to touch and felt like it cut my throat when I touch. This is what drove me to go to the doctor because the symptoms were getting worse and happening more often. I was having a lot of trouble breathing.
I told the doctor I thought that my symptoms was directly related to the Bayer because I did not have any of these issues until after I took the Bayer. She dismissed it and wouldnt look into it because I took the Bayer 1 week and a half prior to seeing her she didnt think the Bayer would still be causing my symptoms.I also showed her the lump on my throat which she really didnt pay that much attention to either when I think the lump on my throat is sort of the problem with my breathing. She seemed hell bent on diagnosing me, because of my weight and the fact that my mother died of heart failure, on sleep apnea and early signs of heart failure. I even paid a visit to the ER one day because I honestly felt like I was going to die and the medicine that my doctor prescribed which was azithromycyn and amiloride was causing no relief.The doctor too was saying all of my symptoms sounded like early heart failure.
I did a chest xray/throat xray at the hospital and they looked at my lungs and blood work and everything was fine. My doctor got my test results from the hospital and confirmed that my results were unremarkable. She seemed really surprised. What might this be? I am tired of sleeping straight up at night not being able to lie down like I like. I am a stomach sleeper and it it killing me not to be able to get any good sleep. The breathing problems seem to let up some it happens now mostly when I lie down at night I just can't breathe if I dont lay a certain way or if I touch the puffy spot on my neck.
first; if u get a different Dr; leave out the one time Bayer story because they will ignore it for good reason; it has no CAUSE N EFFECT
it seems u have been checked extensively and so have little to worry about;
practice breathing ONLY thru your nose and slowly and u may find the problem goes away
don't worry so much for now and best to u
