Q: Throat / ear pain from thyroid?

I have had throat pain for the last 20 days. The pain became severe since the past 7 days. I got checked up for a) strep
b) throat culture c) CBC d) Hetrerophile/Mononucleosis e) thyroid ultrasound. All tests are negative except CBC shows anemia / high neutrophils and slighly low TSH (0.31). T3 and T4 are normalDoctor says that the pain is not coming from the throat as it is perfectly ok. It is coming from the lower part of the throat (around the thyroid region). Doctor claims it is thyroiditis and has put me on ibuprofen/vicodin with the past 7 days which is not helping. He does not know how it is related to the ear pain though and is basically hoping that it will go away by itself. So I have an undiagnosed illness and I got no idea on what to do next. Does someone have any inputs

Did you see an Ear Nose and Throat doctor? I would get a second opinion if I were you. It sounds like this doctor is missing something. You also might want to do some research and google throat pain and see what comes up. It's good to be a little informed when dealing with doctors these days.
