I don't understand your complains? I always thought anti-choice activists believed that showing pictures of aborted fetuses was good for their cause?

It looks like a prawn, doesn't it?

A few statistics (and why I am prochoice)

Ectopic pregnancy occurs at a rate of 19.7 cases per 1,000 pregnancies in North America and is a leading cause of maternal mortality in the first trimester.
JOSIE L. TENORE, M.D., S.M.
Northwestern University Medical School, Chicago, Illinois

What is gestational diabetes?

This is a type of diabetes that some women develop during pregnancy. Between 2 and 7 percent of expectant mothers develop this condition, making it one of the most common health problems of pregnancy.
babycenter.com

How often does placenta previa occur, and what are the symptoms?
Placenta previa occurs in about one in 200 pregnancies. Women who've had a placenta previa in a previous pregnancy have a 4 to 8 percent chance of a recurrence. The most common symptom of placenta previa is painless uterine bleeding
discovery.com/health

Placenta Accreta
One out of 2,500 pregnancies will have this attachment abnormality. Placenta accreta is by far the most common of these problems, accounting for 75 percent of cases. In placenta accreta, the placenta digs deeply into the uterine wall, but does not pierce the uterine muscles. In placenta increta, which accounts for 15 percent of cases, the placenta pierces the uterine muscles.

But a woman does die of pregnancy-related causes every minute somewhere in the world -- more than 536,000 per year.

Nearly 13% of all babies in the U.S. are preemies, a 20% increase since 1990. A 2006 report by the National Academy of Sciences found that the 550,000 preemies born each year in the U.S. run up about $26 billion in annual costs, mostly related to care in NICUs.

Umbilical cord prolapse (UCP) is a rare, obstetrical emergency that occurs when the umbilical cord descends alongside or beyond the fetal presenting part. It is life threatening to the fetus since blood flow through the umbilical vessels is usually compromised from compression of the cord between the fetus and the uterus, cervix, or pelvic inlet. There are two types of UCP:

Overt prolapse, which is the most common, refers to protrusion of the cord in advance of the fetal presenting part, often through the cervical os and into or beyond the vagina. The fetal membranes are invariably ruptured in these cases and the cord is visible or palpable on examination.
Occult prolapse occurs when the cord descends alongside, but not past, the presenting part. It can occur with intact or ruptured membranes. The diagnosis should be considered in the setting of a sudden, prolonged fetal heart rate deceleration. An occult prolapse often cannot be diagnosed with certainty, but is suggested by clinical features (eg, fetal bradycardia) and findings at cesarean delivery.
INCIDENCE — The incidence of UCP ranges from 0.14 to 0.62 percent and has not changed in years [1] . However, perinatal mortality related to UCP, which was as high as 375 per 1000 births in the early 1900s, has fallen to between 36 and 162 per 1000 births within the past few decades [2] . This decline is likely secondary to significant improvements in neonatal intensive care and immediate delivery by cesarean birth once cord prolapse is diagnosed.

Mothers with venereal diseases may wish to terminate their pregnancy as so not to infect the unborn fetus. Higher incidences occur with AIDS patients.

All these statistics, plus the mother's own pre conception health, add up to about ONLY 15% of all pregnancies being UNCOMPLICATED.

Everyone has the right to choose. Every live person capable of thinking has the right to choose.

a vast majority of the 5 billion people on this planet have mothers that survived childbirth. although making up a pack of lies to further their agenda of slaughtering defenseless humans is a common pro choice tactic. mortality rates of women caused by pregnancy is miniscule. especialy compared to the certain death of the child from abortion. a soldier has a far greater chance of dying in battle than a woman ever did from giving birth.

Actually I have quoted fact...and cited where I have found the information. There is no lying.
PS: You seem to be very undereducated. Learn to spell. Learn to make sentences. Then, learn to debate. Because right now, you are not debating. You are squandering away facts that you choose not to believe, you are calling names, you are using Godwin's law, just stop your offensive trolling please. I have decided that you and your false arguments are a waste of my time. I shall now ignore you. Good luck with your self righteous mission.

Education. The first photo is an actual abortion at 5-6 weeks. I think it's important that you, and others reading your semantic ideas know exactly what you are talking about.

The second photos was an etopic pregnancy that would have killed the mother had it continued. I am sure you cannot find the termination of an etopic pregnancy vile unless you would prefer to see the mother die.
even if what you say is true. how does an extremely rare occurance justify the wanton slaughter of millions of innocent healthy children which is the typical abortion. are you suggesting that because a jew was found guilty of homicide that the nazi holocaust is justified?

I am showing the board visuals of what 5-6 week fetuses look like.

You are showing the board a caricature of the prolife activist; latching on to false analogies, dishonest tactics, denigrating women, & the inability to be civil.

suggesting that only 15% of women survive childbirth is absurd. but a typical prochoice lie.

Please show us your facts. Show us YOUR statistics. Show us something that may make your debate a little stronger because right now, you are looking like an anti-choice loon.

Perhaps you should learn to read (and understand what you've read) before you type.

Do you understand the difference between a complication and maternal death?

i understand that imminent maternal death is the only just cause for abortion. and all other complicatons are have no relevance to abortion.

So in other words, you CAN'T read, can you? You said pro-choice says only 15% of mothers survive childbirth, and yet the person you quoted said only 15% of mothers have uncomplicated pregnancies. Since a complicated pregnancy does not equal death, you were WRONG, sir.

And many other pro-lifers would argue with you about death being a just cause for abortion. They would expect the mother to bite the bullet and die for their child. Thank God they're not in charge of the rules, yeah? I wouldn't want a stranger deciding what my life is worth.

No one suggested that. Or came close.

Did you convert anyone to prolife with that lie?

I oppose selective service. It is not prochoice.

The draft was dismembered in 1973 by the way.

Abortion laws are pro-choice, genius. And the draft hasn't been used in decades - longer than abortion laws have been active. Get your facts straight before you quote me.

Lol Laughing soldiers are NOT drafted to fight and die so women can kill their babies. They are drafted to fight for our country. And I am actually anti-draft as well. I think it should be a choice.

you said you are glad the laws are pro-choice. but the laws requiring men to register for the draft are not pro-choice. and neither are the laws that require men to fight and die if they are drafted pro-choice. and if they are fighting for our country and our country allows women to kill babies. how are they not drafted to fight and die so that women can kill their babies?

LEARN TO READ: She said ABORTION LAWS ARE PRO-CHOICE. We both stated that we are anti-draft. I said that I think it should be a choice. They are not drafted to fight and die because there has not been a DRAFT around for ages. WHY do you insist on misreading things, then insult those whom you don't agree with? Why can't you JUST DROP IT? Oh, and by the way, I do not know if you heard or not, there is NO DRAFT. However there is a Selective Services Draft, which both males and females can sign up for, IF THEY WISH TO.
