Hi, i am 17 years old and recently me and my boyfriend tried to have sex for the first time but when he was putting it inside me it really hurt so we stopped. the next day i was bleeding heavily, also there were blood clots and the blood was red/light red. i thought this was because i was a virgin and the hymen broke but now when he fingers me or we try to have sex, blood occurs and we have to stop it.

I also took iron tablets on a daily basis but since 2 weeks or so i have stopped taking them.

Please help me as i am confused about this situation.

Hello,

Welcome to ehealthforum and thanks for writing

After hymen is broken bleeding usually occurs for either few hours or a day or so.Prolonged bleeding associated with blood clots can be due to various reasons as local injury/abrasion,underlying pathology as cervicitis, endometritis etc.
A pelvic examination would help in giving a better idea and if required investigations may be done as USG scan.
Kindly visit a Gynaecologist for evaluation.
Take care!
