Hi. I am a 50 year old female. I have
worked as an RN for the past 22 years.
Last Nov. I recieved an injury to my right
ribs and left knee. In Jan. I had a
meniscis repair and my knee has only
slight pain remaining. My real problem is
the debilitating pain in my mid-section.
I have been to an orthop. surgeon with
little results. I have had a MRI of the
T-spine which shows a T9/10 protrusion
asymmetic to right with mild narrowing to
about 8-9mm. There are also protrusions
at T8/9 and 7/8 without stenosis. I have
also had a C-spine MRI with results as
follows-(1) C5/6 broad-based focal
protusion to left with mild lateral recess
stenosis on left and mild spinal stenosis.
(2) C6/7 disc desiccation with degen.
change along the endplates and broad-based
mild bulge/protrusion with posterior
osteophytes causing mild spinal stenosis
with right foraminal narrowing. I do have
deginerative disc disease with DISH. The
ortho. MD is the one workers comp. chose
for me. Today he told me that there was
nothing he could do about the pain,
because he could not locate a reason. He
also stated that it is very uncommon that
a person would hurt in several areas of
the spine (don't know what planet he is
from!) I even went as far as having a
chest, abd and pelvic CT. This only
showed a rectus diastasis (I am 5' 1",
weighed 118lbs and had a 22 1/2" 9lb baby
in my 20s, probably the cause) and a small
hiatal hernia. Could there be any reasons
for this debilitating pain. I have a very
difficult time walking and sitting. I am
at a loss. Please help guide me in the
correct direction. I know very little
about adult medicine, I have only worked
in the neonatal field for the past 22
years. PLEASE HELP!!!!! MY QUALITY OF
LIFE IS GONE! I DO NOT KNOW WHICH WAY TO
