I started exercising mainly alot of walking at the beginning this past May. In the past month since the weather has gotton colder I am now going to a work out center and using the eliptical (sp), tread mill and several other machines for my hips, outer and inner thighs and arms. My weight has gone down. YEAH ! My thighs (front and back) , inner and outer and butt have all slimmed down. Alot of the cottage cheese or dimple like appearance is gone. When I am standing and look down at my thighs they are alot smoother looking but I still see small like humps, not alot, but a few. My skin is smooth and soft. My quesion is, my legs, thighs and butt are like jello when I poke around on myself. I don't feel like they are firming up with the exercising I am doing. Its just kind of like flabby skin. Now my calves have firmed up and there is a little definition there. I always thought that to lose the weight doing repetitions was what you needed to do. But do I need to increase the resistance part a little more? I don't do the least amt of resistance or lightest weight on the machines. Most all the weight machines are either 30 or 40 lbs. I do 3 sets of 10 on those. On the eliptical (sp) I do have it set for incline, not much but some. And the resistance is set at a 3. I know that inof may not help you much with all the diff. machines out there.

Is there something else I need to be doing to help this flabbiness? Changing my routine ? Any info is greatly appreciated! thanks

It sounds as if you might benefit from some strength training. Instead of cardio routines (like the ellipitical machine), I suggest that you look into targeting the areas of the thighs and gluts via serious weight training.

butt exercise
Most exercises won't do anything for the butt, you need to work very specific muscles. Also, you can have the strongest gluts in the world, but if they're hidden under a layer of fat (and cellulite), nobody will see them. So you need to get rid of fat too (which takes care of cellulite as well).
