Endometriosis is a condition in which endometrial cells are found outside the uterine cavity. The recurring pain is a major symptom of endometriosis. Other symptoms include: nausea, vomiting or diarrhea, frequent menses flow or short menstrual cycle, or heavy or long menstrual periods in some women.
Non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs might help to relieve the pain. Medication containing progesterone might stop the spreading of the endometriosis. However, surgery is the final and most effective treatment for endometriosis.
