I've always felt kind of the same way. Some yogis call the powers "Siddhis".
When you think of the joy gained thru perceptions of greater freedom in your life you are actually accessing a power we all have. For just that moment it made you smile and lifted your spirits as you visualized doing anything you wanted. This power is strengthened thru practice, and may be more natural than super.
Another thing to try is gradually become more aware of silent moments as they occur between sounds, both in your environment and your mind. Alternate this with following you breath.
Key is being gradual and patient. In very short time you'll notice increasing moments of syncronicity and connectedness throughout the day.
Teachers tell us to ignore these powers, get back on the path and practice. I think that's good advice for the monastery but out here in the workaday world we need powers to keep us sane.
