I'm on the 5th day of my period and I started to take the pill again. (I hadnt taken it since May or so) My dermathologist had prescribed me some antibiotics, Monodox(broad-spectrum antibiotic), twice a day, and I took the last one today. I just found out that doxicilins interfere with the contraceptives, so what should I do? Wait for 7 days? How great is the risk? Does me being on the last day of my period affect anything? Have the pills I've been taking been useless? Sad And the pill I've been taking is Ginera.

So are you saying you're on the last day of your period now?

If you got your period you're fine. You can still take a pregnancy test if you want reassurance.

If you didn't get your period, just wait to see if you miss a period then take a pregnancy test.

I'm not worried about being pregnant right now, I'm just worried the antibiotics Ive been taking will neutralise the pills, and increase the risk of me being pregnant if I have intercourse this week or month.

Oh, well if the antibiotics aren't in your system, then its not a problem.

To be safe, just use a back up method for awhile.
